The family, once a bastion of African society, is fast losing its hallowed place. Spending time with family ranks only 5th as a favorite pass-time among the married, who similarly rank the family as only the 3rd most important thing in their lives. While relegating the role of the family, 84% of respondents deem it important to have a lasting relationship with one partner.
